Students who pass the Intermediate Examination in Pre-Medical are eligible for admission in Medical Colleges who have obtained higher marks than the marks fixed on the basis of open merit or quota. If a young person has taken the path of becoming a family doctor as a general practitioner, he will initially face some unrealistic situation. Because the curriculum taught in medical colleges is not in line with the current practical requirements of professional medicine. Therefore, only on the basis of optical education and training, doctors have difficulty in successfully treating today’s diseases. The solution to this problem is that any doctor who wants to come into general practice should work in the following four areas for another six months after completing the house job and after two years of this practical and valuable experience of his clinic. This two-year training can be obtained at any hospital where these departments are operating.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons offers a diploma course for general practitioners called MCPS (Family Medicine). The test is taken twice a year. Recently, FCPS (In-Family Practice) Fellowship Examinations for Family Physicians have also started.
